The Greek Turkish Forum (GTF) met in Ankara on 6-7 May 2019

The Greek Turkish Forum met in Ankara to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations as well as regional issues affecting the relationship between the two countries. At the end of the meeting, the GTF released a statement, urging all sides to negotiate a fair, viable, and permanent solution for the Cyprus problem based on a bi-zonal bi-communal federation and political equality of both communities living on the island.

The GTF statement also urged all sides involved to consider the natural resources in the Eastern Mediterranean as a source of mutual interest and cooperation while emphasising the importance of avoiding inflammatory statements on both Cyprus Issue and Greek-Turkish relations.
