Özdil Nami is a Member of Parliament since 2003. His previous positions include being the Minister of Economy and Energy and Minister of Foreign Affairs of TRNC as well as being the Turkish Cypriot Negotiator at the Cyprus negotiations held under the auspices of the UN Secretary General.

He served as the Elected Representative of the Turkish Cypriot Community at the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe and as an observer member at the PES group of the European Parliament.

Prior to joining political life he was engaged in trade and was the Chairman of the Turkish Cypriot Businessman Association and a member of Assembly of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.

Özdil Nami has an MBA degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA degree in Business Administration from the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. He has lectured at various universities in North Cyprus on economics, finance and negotiations.
