He is currently a professor of International Law at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law (Turkey). He received his undergraduate degree in International Relations from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, a master’s degree in International Law from Sheffield University (the UK)), and a doctoral degree in International Law from the University of Bristol (the UK). Areas of expertise are international maritime law, international law of armed conflicts and international human rights law. He published many academic articles in qualified academic journals. He is also the author of the books, “The Aegean Maritime Disputes and International Law”, “The Crime of Aggression in International Law”, “Asylum Strategy of Turkey from the Global and Regional Perspectives” and “Basic Textbook on International Law.He did post-doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law at the University of Hawaii in the USA, and also gave lectures at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Izmir University of Economics, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Turkish Military Academy, and Atılım University.
